Are you an Arrow of Light scout looking for a Scout Troop to cross over to? or maybe you are new to Scouting and want a great Troop to join?
Either way, Troop 437 welcomesall youth to come and experience the adventure of scouting! Visit one of our meetings to experience what Scouting is all about and what makes Troop 437 a great Scout Troop.
We meet every Thursday evening when school is in session. Meetings start at 7:00 pm at the American Legion Post 437 at 114 Dunstable Road. Feel free to contact us at info@westfordtroop437.us and let us know you are coming or to contact us with any questions. For more information about the troop, you can start at our About Us webpage.
The Troop will be hosting a special Court of Honor on May 14th to honor Danny and Noah for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Please save the date and look for an invitation with all the details coming in an e-mail.
The March trip for Troop 437 will be a day hiking trip in the Mt. Monadnock area. We will be camping at BSA Camp Wanocksett in Dublin NH. If conditions permit, we will go hiking and have the ability to go fishing. This is also an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the site for Summer Camp.
Due to the time of year, the weather will be unpredictable. Please be prepared for cold weather. The summit can experience winter like conditions even in summer. Scouts will be required to bring boots, micro spikes for hiking, long pants, layered clothing, jacket, rain gear, hat, gloves, and a small day pack for the hike.
Additional equipment needed: tent with a rain fly (sharing arranged with other scout(s)), sleeping pad, sleeping bag, mess kit, several extra pairs of socks, spare pair of shoes, flashlight with good batteries, water bottle, compass, map, sports gear, and fishing gear / license where appropriate.

Troop meetings back inside at the Legion starting this week.
What precautions will be taken?
Everyone must properly wear high-quality masks
Windows will be open to provide ventilation
Social distancing when possible
Since the windows will be open participants should dress warmly given the room will be cooler than usual.
If you are feeling unwell, have been exposed to COVID, or have family members that have recently tested positive for COVID, please do not attend the meeting. If you become ill or test positive soon after a meeting, please inform one of the adult leaders.
This week's meeting will be focused on rank advancement. All scouts should plan on bringing their Scout Handbook to the meeting.
Scouts are responsible for their advancement. The Troop makes opportunities available to work on advancement but if scouts do not bring their handbook there is no way of knowing what they need to work on. A scout should always bring their handbook to Troop meetings and also have looked at the book to know what they need to work on - the requirements are listed in the back of the handbook.
Also, be kind to your book - put it in a large zip-lock bag so it is protected from the weather and other hazards when you are not using it!
