Are you an Arrow of Light scout looking for a Scout Troop to cross over to? or maybe you are new to Scouting and want a great Troop to join?

Either way, Troop 437 welcomes all youth to come and experience the adventure of scouting! Visit one of our meetings to experience what Scouting is all about and what makes Troop 437 a great Scout Troop.

We meet every Thursday evening when school is in session. Meetings start at 7:00 pm at the American Legion Post 437 at 114 Dunstable Road. Troop 437's second annual Bike and Sporting goods sale is in the history books and was a big sucess. Thank you to everyone who put in time to make this event happen and to everyone who donated, consigned, and purchased items at the sale. Look for the sale again next spring!

Important Bike and Sporting Goods Sale Information

Just days away from the biggest Spring Sporting Goods Sale EVER!

All scouts - check your basements, garages, attics, sibling's rooms, and any other places for things you think you would like to sell! Bring them to the drop off on Friday evening or Saturday morning
Everyone's help is needed to run the event. If you have not already done so please sign up to work a slot.
This is an outdoor event - remember to dress for the weather, bring a water bottle, and a camp chair if you would like - although we hope you don't have nay time to sit down!

We will be reviewing the event details at the end of the troop meeting - parents are invited to attend to listen in.

Just a reminder to bring back your gear from the chasm to the troop meeting. Please make sure that it is clean. If you have a patrol bag please remember to fill out the inventory slip before you bring it back.

One Last Call - Youth Leadership Training Opportunities

There are two great youth leadership training opportunities offered over the summer, Brownsea II and NYLT. These are geared for scouts 14 or older that are currently in or looking to get into leadership positions. Both programs are week long camp experiences focused on leadership training.

If you are interested in either of these programs please contact the scoutmaster as soon as possible.

Important Calendar Changes

We have had to make some changes due to various issues around venue availability.

In a nutshell:

As was mentioned in a prior e-mail we are moving the May trip from the weekend of May 12th to the weekend of May 19th.

We are swapping the trip destinations and activities for May and June. The May sailing trip will be held in June and the June zip-line trip will be held in May.

New Scout Parent Orientation Meeting - THIS WEEK

It looks like the weather will cooperate to allow us to hold the parents meeting in the legion hall. In case it turns out that the weather prevents the scouts from being outside then I will send out mail tomorrow afternoon.

There will be meeting for parents of new scouts (or any parent who wants a refresher) to introduce them to how the troop runs, advancement, trips, summer camp, and any other topics you would like information on. This meeting will be during the troop meeting on Thursday April 12th with a rain date of Thursday April 26th (the parents take over the function hall while the boys hold their troop meeting outdoors - rain would change those plans). At least one parent from each family should plan on attending.
