2025 Summer Camp at Camp Wanocksett

January Winter Camping Trip - Signups due this week!

Posted on Jan 7 2014 - 11:17pm

Due to the weather cancelation of last week's troop meeting, this week's troop meeting (1/9) is the only opportunity to signup for Saturday's campout.  Please bring a signed permission form to turn in at the beginning of the meeting.

The January trip for Troop 437 is sledding and other winter outdoor fun at Camp Resolute in Bolton, MA. For dinner we will be holding an Iron Chef Competition. Patrols will compete for the best meal while incorporating a secret ingredient into their dishes.  The trip officialy starts at 1:00pm on Saturday.  If there is interest - scouts working on the cooking merit badge can arrive early to cook lunch and work on the merit badge.  Please let the Scoutmaster know if you are interested.

We will be winter camping at the Rifle Range cabin. Scouts can choose between sleeping in the cabin or pitching a tent and sleeping outdoors. The cabin has electricity and a wood stove. A few items to remember to pack for this trip: your sled, warm clothes (layers), snow boots, spare pair of footwear, and your sleeping bag and pad. For outdoor winter camping, you will need a properly rated sleeping bag.  More information on cold weather camping can be found here.
