Either way, Troop 437 welcomes all youth to come and experience the adventure of scouting! Visit one of our meetings to experience what Scouting is all about and what makes Troop 437 a great Scout Troop.

We meet every Thursday evening when school is in session. Meetings start at 7:00 pm at the American Legion Post 437 at 114 Dunstable Road. Merit Badge Counselor Training - This week during Troop meeting

Calling all parents! We are looking for adults to help bring merit badge opportunities to our scouts. Merit Badge Counselors are adults who have professions, hobbies, life experiences, or simply passions in one or more of over 130 merit badge subjects. To be a counselor you need to attend a short merit badge counselor training session which is what we are offering on the 20th - mostly focused on the paperwork associated with merit badges. In addition counselors have to fill out a new CORI form.

We will have copies of the the needed forms at the training session but please bring a copy of a photo ID to submit with a new CORI form. You may also want to spend a little time looking over the merit badges to see which ones you may want to counsel. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the scoutmaster.

Cookie dough distribution This Thursday 12/6 4:00pm - 5:00pm

This Thursday is cookie dough distribution night. There will not be any regular troop meeting. All scouts who sold cookie dough need to come to the Legion between 4:00pm and 5:00pm to pickup their orders. As the cookie dough is frozen it either needs to be delivered right away or arrangements need to be made to keep it frozen.

Members of the PLC should arrive at 3:00pm to help sort orders and prepare the cookie dough for pickup.

2012/2013 Dues and Fees

Troop 437 annual dues and fees for 2012/2013 are a total of $66.25, or $78.25 if you would also like a subscription to Boy's Life (optional). Please make your payment by November 15, 2012. Dues and fees proceeds are used to cover Troop expenses including the national registration fee, patches, pins, general troop supplies and camping equipment.

From Marty Turnbull: "We handed out bags for the food drive at the last meeting. Bags where to be dropped of this weekend and picked up next weekend. The bags can be delivered to my house any time this weekend and left in my garage the address is 17 snow Drive in Parker Village Westford."

Raking Leaves - Scout service project reminder

Hello Fellow Scouts!
This is Austin Xu. I have contacted the Senior Center in Westford and they have said that they would like some help to rake leaves in some Senior's yards. This would be a great opportunity for service hours.The event will be on the 10th, which is a Saturday, from 9-12, at 6 Country Rd. near WA. We will be raking Mr. Bob France's yard. He will be able to supply tarps and bags for the leaves, but we still need to bring our own rakes. I will put a sign up sheet at the back of the table during the next troop meeting for anyone who wishes to sign up for this event. See you at the troop meeting!
