The June trip for Troop 437 is a 2 night camping trip to Quechee Gorge, VT. We will be tent camping at Quechee State Park.
On Friday after site setup, we will have a fire and cracker barrel. Note it is expected that people provide their own dinner plans on Friday. On Saturday, in addition to all the meals and cracker barrel, we will be hiking around and exploring the gorge then visiting the Vermont Institute of Natural Science. VINS' mission is to motivate individuals to care for the natural environment through education, research, and avian wildlife rehabilitation. Scouts will also have the opportunity to visit the Cabot Creamery Quechee Store and sample some of Cabot’s world-renowned cheeses and other Vermont specialties. Scouts might wish to have a little bit of spending money for the store. Sunday we will have breakfast and pack for departure. We should arrive in Westford before noon on Sunday.
In addition to the usual camping gear and clothes, remember to pack: suntan lotion, water bottle, bug spray, water bottle, rain gear, water bottle, scout handbook, and of course a water bottle. Scouts may need some extra spending money for dinner Friday, gift shop at Vermont Institute of Natural Science and the Cabot Quechee Store.
